adam ezra group brings on da funk
The Boston-area band (with one Mainer) is playing Gates Community Center at College of the Atlantic at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, yes—Halloween night. It is open to the public at $10 a seat at the
door. And don't leave your costumes at home!
The Adam Ezra Group recently released the album "View from the Root" combining folk/rock with world beat and funk genres. In 2007, they were rated one of New England's top five mountain bands by Ski Magazine. In the past years, they have shared the stage with the Goo Goo Dolls, Guster, John Mayer, Aerosmith, Dave Matthews Band, Carbon Leaf, The Wailers, Pete Seeger, State Radio (from Dispatch), The Pat McGee Band and more.
Lyricist Adam Ezra writes strong lyrics that often combine the personal with the political—a fact recognized by the United Nations. The group's Web site notes that Ezra has been asked to write a song and perform it at the United Nations headquarters during their International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
